4ºC is a Japanese jewellery brand that have a presence in Hong Kong since 1999. A popular brand amongst Hong Kongers who love the pure, clean and modern design that is the hallmark of all 4°C jewellery pieces.

An interesting fact to keep in mind, 4°C is known by its customers to contain a higher percentage of precious metal. 4°C’s platinum jewellery are made of 950 platinum compared to the usual 900 platinum by other brands.

Celebrity of the Week: Gigi Leung

A look at the style of Hong Kong’s favorite singer/actress.

Gigi Leung was born on born March 25, 1976, with her twin brother, Keith Leung Wing-Chun. A graduate of the School of Design from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, she started her career in show biz as a model for City Chain.

Gigi soon caught the attention of director Lee Chi-Ngai and was cast in Doctor Mack. She gained popularity in Full Throttle and received a nomination for Best Newcomer that year. Since then, She’s gone on to star in about 20 more dramas and comedies. She’s worked with the best- Takeshi Kaneshiro, Tony Leung, Andy Lau and Jet Li.Gigi has also crossed over to music- debuting her album Love myself in 1996 and is the ever famous Fancl girl.

Gigi’s tall stature has earned her the nickname “tall girl” which she takes full advantage by wearing both long and short dresses to full effect. She loves Ferragamo, Marc Jacobs, Chanel, LV. Her style can be described as effortless elegance.

Gucci Fall 2009

Tough glamour at Gucci.

Perhaps bracing herself for the harsh winter ahead, head Gucci designer Frida Giannini has gone ahead and made sure that girls can still go out partying in style. That’s what her fall ready-to-wear seems to suggest- luxe clubwear.

Most of the looks followed the exaggerated top and slim leg silhouette. Girls looked edgy in leather over-the-knee and thigh-high boots. Slick leggings also made an appearance, in shades of silvery gray and soot black. Tops provided color and bold print in fuchsias, blues and over-sized stripes and polka dots. The strong shoulder was also prominent in many a look, and the asymmetrical cut did well to break the monotony.

Emerging Trends:

• bold and over-sized prints- think polka dots and giant stripes
• shades of cobalt blue, fuchsia and purple
• thigh high boots
• exaggerated and strong shoulders

YSL Spring Summer Men’s Collection 2010

A film by Samuel Benchetrit shows YSL’s latest men collection.

Yves Saint Laurent is going down a different route to show its Men’s collection for 2010. A film shot by French film director, actor and writer Samuel Benchetrit was shown last June 24 in Paris, to introduce the collection.

The 8-minute short film shows the adventures a young male lead at the Bristol Hotel. He manages to enter an unknown hotel room and proceeds to find out information about the owner. His attempts at matchmaking are quite adorable to see. Watch the short film here.
