Prada Gets Illustrated

New prints by illustrator James Jean.

You’ve no doubt by now seen Prada’s new ad campaign all over Hong Kong. Prada has hired Los Angeles-based Asian-American artist James Jean to illustrate their new prints that can be seen on handbags and dresses. What is interesting is that, not only has comic book characters have taken over the movies they are now taking over high fashion, as Jean is a notable comic book artist and his work has graced several graphic novels and comic books over the last few years. They evoke a dream-like quality and he is one of the most sought after artists with his original art going for high 6-figures on Ebay.

This is not new ground for Prada as last year they went anime as well.

Prada is available in Hong Kong at their outlets at Alexandra House, IFC, Pacific Place, Sogo, Peninsula Hotel and the Canton Road shop. An animation featuring the new print illustrations is below:
