Coach Megastore Opens this Week
Flagship Lan Kwai Fong store finally opens on May 30th.
You’ve been waiting for it for months, you’ve been teased as layers get revealed at the foot of Lan Kwai Fong. Probably the biggest launch since H&M last year: the Coach flagship store in Hong Kong opens this week on Friday.
Chairman and CEO of Coach, Mr. Lew Frankfort will be present for the opening ceremony of Coach’s megastore in Central at 2 pm. Shu Qi (舒淇) and Zhou Xun (周迅) will also attend for the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The 9,400 square foot store is designed by Reed Krakoff, President and Executive Creative Director of Coach, with the Coach Architecture Group and features a unique design created exclusively for this flagship. An impressive four-story glass and stainless steel back-lit Signature facade, as well as the Coach Horse and Carriage logo, highlights the brand’s craftsmanship heritage.
The store’s interior projects an intimate, residential, New York City attitude, with the latest evolution of Coach’s design. Design details include white Italian Carrera marble floors with black cabochon details, solid walnut herringbone panels. Fixtures consist of custom lacquer and antique mirror with oxidized nickel silver accents and special Coach custom-designed furniture. To commemorate the opening, Krakoff also created a series of exotic, hand-numbered bags.
