On the Bikini Trail in Hong Kong

Tuesday. 24 June. 2008. 9:48 am

Looking to find the perfect bikini? Here’s our top picks.

sabina.jpg

Fact: There are not many places in Hong Kong where you can find a nice pair of bikini.

Blame it on the limited number of sunny days we get in summer, even as we type this, outside its sunny but the Typhoon Signal 1 is raised. Perhaps there’s not much of a market, as Hong Kong girls tend to shy away from the sun and are too modest to wear a bikini, which means there are only a few good places to shop for bikinis for the sun goddesses that live in our fair city.

We’ve made a brief list of the ones we think are worth checking out:

Sabina Swims
Founded by local designer, Sabina Wong, this bikini store offer a good range of bikinis in classic cuts, muted colours and gorgeous patterns. Nice fabrics and cute details like jade and fresh water pearl bead tassels, makes it worthwhile to trek down to their store at 99 Wellington Street or you can buy online too!

iPhone Hong Kong Pricing Rumours

Tuesday. 24 June. 2008. 9:13 am

What you might be expecting to pay for the 3G iPhone on July 11th.

iphonehutchinson.jpg

With Apple’s 3G iPhone on its way to Hong Kong in 18 days, the online rumour mill is exploding on what operator 3 will be charging for the privilege of using the JesusPhone in Hong Kong.

Currently, tallying posted rumours on local Hong Kong sites we are looking at something similar to the US’s AT&T deal:

- 8GB model will be around HK$1580
- 16GB model: HK$2380
- The monthly bill: HK$300-450 per month. That will get you talk time plus an unlimited data plan.
- This will be for a 2 year minimum contract.
- A HK$1000 pre-payment fee that will be refunded to you over the next 24 months.

This is still speculation, but it sounds pretty much in line with what we would expect for this type of product. Unless there is some crazy typhoon that day, we expect to see A LOT of people lined up around Hong Kong at 3 stores to get their slice of the Apple.3giphonefinal.jpg
