New shopping destination at the Four Seasons Macao is now open.
The Shoppes at Four Seasons Macao opened on Friday as the newest super-lux shopping destination in Macau. Sporting over 180 retailers and linked with The Venetian, Macau has thrown down the gauntlet to get you to spend all your blackjack winnings there instead of back in Hong Kong.
All the usual suspects are there like Versace, Louis Vuitton, Prada, On Pedder, Loewe, Juicy Couture, so it seems the lure of special non-HK retailers is not really there. Some retailers are offering limited edition products like Fendi and David Yurman but this list is quite small.
Spend 50,000MOP and you cand get a free limosine ride is one of the perks, and they have private shoppers and room delivery as well. It seems like the more you spend the more benefits they are offering.

Tod’s jumps into online video with Paltrow & Dennis Hopper.
Tod’s is also casting its brand online with Iron Man’s girlfriend Gwyenth Paltrow in a short film directed by no-less than Dennis Hopper entitled “Pashmy,” and of course that is the name of the bag that Tod’s is promoting.
The short sees Paltrow being interviewed by a handsome journalist played by Italian actor Daniele Savoca. During their interview, the paparazzi finds them and Paltrow flees, accidentally leaving behind her “Pashmy” bag while trying to escape. The journalist sets off to find her in an attempt to reunite Paltrow with her “Pashmy” and eventually tracks her down at a glamorous ball, just outside Rome. “Cinderella had her shoe,” says Hopper, “Gwyneth has her Tod’s bag.”
The film will be coming online soon, in September during Milan Fashion Week, but if you go to Tods.com now you can watch a behind-the-scenes video on the making of the film with quick cuts and biting electric guitar score. Will it be just a long commercial or will it have a real narrative? With Hopper in charge, it should at least be something to pay attention to.

The Mercedes-Benz sponsored show closes with a Westwood bang.
The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin Spring/Summer 2009 show just closed as well, and it seemed like a typical fashion show with big guests like Karl Lagerfeld, Claudia Schiffer, Boris Becker, Annie Lennox and Kim Catrall, until Vivienne Westwood showed up on the last day:
Vivienne Westwood’s young Anglomania collection got presented by fashion professionals, namely models, who were extremely cute and even had the chance to present their skills as entertainers while dressed in the designer’s amazing clothes.
It came as no surprise that the audience was overwhelmed by the show and the fashion on the catwalk and afterwards expressed their satisfaction with some long standing ovation in honor of the famous designer.

Crocs are dead, long live the sandals with the built-in-gym.

How to get Haute Couture on your new iPhone.
Looks like Chanel was the first fashion brand to get into the new iPhone App Store. So for all of your who grabbed an iPhone (and iPod Touch owners who upgraded their firmware) in Hong Kong can have some cool haute couture to view on it.
Not only can you view photos and videos of the upcoming Chanel collection, but it also works as a store locator and a news feed for all that’s happening in the world of Chanel. How’s that for having not only the coolest mobile phone out there, but also having the latest and greatest Chanel info right at your fingertips.

The American Mid-West is the theme for Replay’s Fall collection.
Replay has sent us a few pieces from their Fall/Winter collection due out in Hong Kong at the end of July.
The woman’s collection looks to the world of country and is reworked in a contemporary style. This is a version suitable for urban women who nevertheless like folk touches for a more romantic look. There is a definite fusion of styles working here: hippie, art deco, the Bauhaus graphic experiments and a jazz style.
