The cosmetic store shopping field just got a little more crowded as France’s Sephora gets ready to enter the Hong Kong market with a high-profile shop in Mong Kok on the infamous Sai Yeung Choi Street South:

Just months after Marionnaud Paris opened its first Hong Kong store in Tsim Sha Tsui, Parisian stalwart Sephora is launching its maiden outlet in one the busiest shopping areas in Mong Kok.

Both chains are known for taking ahands-on approach to sales. Customers get to browse the large, open-concept stores and sample the cosmetics. Sephora’s Hollywood Plaza store, opening this Friday, is the first of 15 planned over the next five years.

So how will Sephora take on their Champs Elysee rival? “The Sephora experience is totally different,” Paille assures. “We have a much larger offer, more products, exclusive brands, plus we have plenty of services like makeup and haircare consultations.”

With Sasa, Faces and the recently opened Marionnaud Paris, the choices for women have grown so much that now the road to success is information and education about the best choices for you and we’ll be covering more beauty tips in upcoming posts here at Butterboom.com. 2. It’s a pity there aren’t that many new brands coming to Hong Kong, but I’m looking forward to the opening nonetheless!
