Coco & Igor’ Cannes Premiere Showing

Celebrity guests dressed to the hilt at the Coco & Igor Cannes’ premiere at Cannes.

It was no surprise that the premiere of Coco & Igor, seen by many as the biggest fashion movie of the year, attracted an audience of finely dressed international celebrities. Coco and Igor, starred by Anna Mouglalis, tells of the love story between couture legend Coco Chanel and composer Igor Stravinsky. It is a cinematic feature full of passion, inspiration, romance, and of course beautiful clothes.

Lead Anna Mouglalis was vibrant in an emerald green gown with a giant bow. Actress Zhang Ziyi showed up in a blush pink metallic dress with a very revealing back, while Shi Qu looked divine in a royal blue, one-shouldered Roberto Cavalli with matching accessories.Tan Zhou was there too in a pale pink strapless gown.

These ladies certainly paid homage to Coco Chanel with their inspired ensembles and knocked the looks right out of the park.

Scarlett Johansson is the Fall Face of Mango 2009

ScarJo seems to model more than act these days.

Mango‘s Fall/Winter ad campaign will feature Scarlett Johansson, replacing Penelope Cruz (also her co-star in Vicky Christina Barcelona). Scarlett is repping so many brands these days we’re kind of missing her in new movies and missing that lonely lost girl she played so well in Lost in Translation.

Mango lauded Johansson’s qualities: “extraordinary personality, fun, young” and adding, “She’s Mango’s ideal urban woman, independent and cosmopolitan.”

Images for the upcoming campaign were shot in Los Angeles by Mario Sorrenti.

Expect to see Hong Kong trams and billboards covered with Scarlett’s face this Fall. We’ll see her on the big screen next in Iron Man 2 which she is filming now but won’t be out till next Summer.

In October 2008, Marc Jacobs first announced that he was teaming up with Swimwear Anywhere Inc. to produce swim separates for the Marc for Marc Jacobs line. The long wait is finally over as the collaboration has produced swimwear that echoes the Marc by Marc Jacobs feel. Pieces are flirty and playful, mixing quirky patterns and cheerful colors that is characteristic of Marc. The adorable Miss Marc also makes an appearance, complete with bows and ruffles.

One of seventies’ biggest names has a re-emergence.

Look up seventies fashion and no doubt you will come across the name Roy Halston Frowick. Simply known as the brand Halston, Roy has revolutionized women’s dressing and fashion with his slinky and sophisticated silhouettes. Unknown to many, Roy Halston Frowick did not start out as a clothes designer. He first made hats and catapulted to fame when he was asked to design Jackie Kennedy’s pillbox hat which she wore to John F. Kennedy’s inauguration.

H&M for Fashion Against AIDS

H&M teams up with major celebrities to fight AIDS.

H&M has teamed up with DAA (Designers Against Aids) and some of the world’s biggest celebrities to raise awareness and combat the disease.

Katy Perry, Dita Von Teese, N.E.R.D., Estelle, Cyndi Lauper and Yoko Ono are some of the big names who have designed T-shirts and vest with  t-shirt dresses and vests for H&M with messages in line with the cause. Made from 100% organic cotton, designs will be available for both men and women. Starting from May 28, T-shirts will be on sale at all H&M stores with 25% of the sales price will be donated to youth HIV/AIDS awareness projects.
