We love it when a cosmetic brand makes an effort to use ingredients that are good for your skin. M.A.Cs new gel-based cream foundation contains antioxidants vitamin C and E, Titanium Dioxide (natural sunscreen), Shea Butter, Tamarind Seed extract, Quercus Suber Bark extract and lots of other chemical replacement ingredients.

This foundation has a silky and creamy texture that can be blended with a moisturizer to create a luminous finish that M.A.C swears gives your skin a satiny finish. This is because the product is using a cushiony gel base that evens out skin and contain ingredients that keeps skin hydrated.

Apparently M.A.C has taken 2 and a half year to develop this foundation. A Q&A with Nick Gavrelis,  VP, Global Product Development gives you more info about this hot new item.

Q:Was this product developed in answer to customers demand?

Nick: We wanted to build a long-lasting, hydrating cream foundation using modern aspects, like gel-base combined with a luxurious, rich, creamy feel.  It had to have the wear and flawlessness that our makeup artist demanded as well as the comfort, moisturization and smoothing qualities that real women have been asking for.

Q:What are the benefits of the antioxidants and plant-based ingredients found in Studio Sculpt?

Nick: Vitamin C and E help defend against free radical damage. Combined with Titanium Dioxide (a physical sunscreen) and Octinoxate (a gentle chemical sunscreen), this offers broad-spectrum UVA and UVB protection. We use yeast extracts and shea butter to boost moisture levels, and extracts of Hyberlea Rhodopensis Leaf extract, Beet Root and Tamarind Seed extract to improve skin’s hydration.
