H&M has announced Sonia Rykiel as its next guest designer for its Winter 2009 and Spring 2010 collection.  For the first time ever, H&M’s partnership with its guest designer moves into the realm of lingerie. Sonia Rykiel for H&M Winter 2009 collection debuts December 5th, 2009 and will be available at all H&M outlets spanning the globe including Hong Kong, just in time for the upcoming holiday season.

Another exciting and exclusive first, Sonia Rykiel boutiques worldwide will also carry pieces from the H&M collaboration. This is noteworthy first step for both brands, as it is the first time H&M products will be featured for sale at a high fashion boutique, affordable high street style.

The winter collection is but a prelude of things to come, be prepared for the duo’s second collaboration featuring colorful knitwear and playful accessories for women and children set for a February 2010 launch.

The French fashion house, started by Sonia Rykiel and currently under the artist direction of Nathalie Rykiel, is well known for its knits that “represents the distinctive, modern and impertinent spirit of Paris”.
