Versace’s youthful vibe for Spring.

Versace_spring2010

While we personally find Versace always a bit much with their collections, we seem hard-pressed to find anything wrong with this collection. We loved the youthful vibe injected into every single piece, very appropriate for spring!

From the bright pastel hues, short lengths and vibrant mixing of prints, everything seemed to scream ‘vitality’. The strong ’90s vibe also witnessed a renaissance in many of the pieces; mostly in the cuts of the short dresses and chain-mail details. All the models looked aglow with bouncy hair, radiant smiles and healthy tans; concluding Donatella Versace’s Spring collection as a celebration for all things bright, young and happy. Bravo!

Emerging Trends:

  • Bright pastels like pink, peach, blue, yellow
  • Super short skirts and dresses
  • Mixing print on print
  • Figure-hugging silhouettes

Looks we love:

  1. Versace’s clothing collection is a bit far out but it caters to a specific market– one that pays :)

But the bag designs of Versace need a serious overhaul :(

  2. Donatella Versace is HK this week – I bumped into her while she was browsing the shops in IFC. Flanked by tall handsome bodyguards, she is the picture of elegance and champion of the Versace brand wearing a figure hugging summer dress which reminded me of classy Blue and White China. Confident on her sky-scraper heals, she was relaxed about popping into our favorite IFC shops and picking up accessories. Good on you Donatella!
