Get ‘An Education’ in Hong Kong on January 21st
Free tickets to the critically-acclaimed film for our VIPs.

An Education opens in Hong Kong on January 21st, but here’s an opportunity to win tickets for the preview screening on the evening of the 19th.
An Education is the story of a teenage girl’s coming-of-age, set in Britain in the early 1960s on the cusp of the straight-laced, post-war period, and the free-spirited decade to come. Directed by award-winning Danish filmmaker, Lone Scherfig, (Wilbur Wants to Kill Himself, Italian for Beginners) from a screenplay by Nick Hornby (High Fidelity, About a Boy), AN EDUCATION was adapted from a memoir by journalist Lynn Barber, which originally appeared in the literary magazine, Granta.
In the post-war, pre-Beatles London suburbs, Jenny (Carey Mulligan), a bright schoolgirl, is torn between studying for a place at Oxford and the more exciting alternative offered to her by a charismatic older man, David (Peter Sarsgaard).
Just as the family’s long-held dream of getting their brilliant daughter into Oxford seems within reach, Jenny is tempted by another kind of life. Will David be the making of Jenny, or her undoing?
An Education has received many nominations and won many awards already – a Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama for Carey Mulligan being the big one. Will it get any Oscar nods? You tell us after the screening. It has an amazingly high score on RottenTomatoes.com as well.
All you have to do is be on the Butterboom VIP list and let us know in the comments section, if you could go back to school and get a new education, what would you want to study? A new language? MBA? Painting? Fashion design? Banking?
Drop us a comment after you’ve watched the trailers and we’ll randomly draw a group of winners to win 10 pairs of tickets to join us on the 19th.
