Rupert Sanderson Steps into Hong Kong
A new talented shoemaker opening up shop soon in Hong Kong!
UK shoe designer, Rupert Sanderson, is creating quite a buzz in the shoe biz. In the eight short years since his first collection. His shoes have become a staple on London’s fashion red carpet and have garnered quite a following including the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, Keira Knightley, Freida Pinto and Sienna Miller.
Rupert’s shoes are known for being exquisitely well made and have won him the recognition of the British Fashion Council Award in 2008. Every pair of Rupert Sanderson shoes are hand-crafted in his own factory in Bologna. Rupert combines a decidedly British tongue-in-cheek humor (he names all of his shoes are named after English daffodil!) with the most excellent Italian craftsmanship. Those who have worn his shoes are surprised at how comfortable his high heel shoes are.
The big news for shoe lovers in Hong Kong is that he is opening his first international flagship store in Hong Kong on March 25th at 8 On Lan Street in Central…that’s right, across the street from Christian Louboutin!
To commemorate the opening, Rupert is releasing two worldwide exclusive limited edition shoes – the “Conquest” and “Asteroid” – where only one size per style will be available. Karl Lagerfeld apparently loved them so much he selected them for his Spring/Summer 2010 collection. And Karl can’t be wrong!
