Shanghai Tang “Love Restraint” Collection
Shanghai Tang’s Spring/Summer 2010 Collection.
In the ongoing dance of the oriental love affair, Shanghai Tang evokes Chinese inspired style with Western modernity. The Spring / Summer 2010 “Love Restraint” collection is inspired by three themes: Chinese Shan Shui paintings of majestic mountains, nostalgic era of Hong Kong in the 1960’s, and the art of Peranakan ceramics.
Anyone who has followed Shanghai Tang’s work will attest that Shanghai Tang also takes into account that there are women who love their muted tones and does not forget them.
The collection has incredible clean lines and lovely details, such as their signature Jade buttons, embroidery and even hidden buttons, so nothing takes away from the true form of the silhouette.
Our top choices for those that doesn’t want to look like she’s dressing up in a costume, are the Chinese inspired prints featured in so many of their pieces and the Shan Shui Clasp (below left HK$2480) clutch, which makes for a perfect east meets west for any wardrobe.
