Commes des Garcons graces us with a Useless or Useful Exhibition.

From April 7 to May 7, 2010, Commes des Garcons in collaboration with Christian Astuguevieille, a Paris born and based artist, treats Hong Kong audiences to an unusual installation of the Useless or Useful. Cooking utensils – some dating back centuries and from all parts of the world – will be up on display. To make it a bit more unique than a standard museum showing, the utensils will be hand-sewn on different textiles and painted grey to render a new effect.

The legendary British trenchcoat maker expands in Hong Kong with a new store opening.

Aquascutum is a brand with a long history, established since 1851, Aquascutum has been making the water-repellent ‘Trench Coat’ for the British army since the First World War. The company was granted the Royal Warrant for decades and was also chosen as the tailor shop by the British Royal Family. Interestingly the company decided to name the company ‘Aquascutum’ from what they did best, design clothes to protect from water, putting together two Latin words ‘Aqua’ and ‘Scutum’ which means ‘Water-shield’.
