Butterboom had a sneak peek of the sartorial geniuses from the Burberry Pre-Fall and Fall 2012 collection and we’re loving what we saw. Fall pieces are making their way to Burberry stores next month, all the way through August till September. Fashion is moving fast though we’re not sure if we have enough space in our wardrobe to plan Fall so far ahead.
The pre-collection has a very English country feel to it with garden dresses getting a modern tailored twist. Tailoring was particularly obvious with the peplum pocket fitted skirt, gathered waist tailored dress and cropped lock-front jacket. The colour palette was dark and romantic of blue sage, colonial blue, sapphire, dark magnolia, dark bracken, pink lavender and dark charcoal.
Fall Collection – The collection as with the brands heritage, exudes nostalgic Britishness, mixed with modernity is the reason Burberry is so very relevant today. There is a lot of emphasis on sculptural tailoring and graphical shapes and Christopher Bailey continues to mix fabrics and textures.
There were lots of interesting pieces such as the tiered fringed dress and tiered peplum trench coat further proved Bailey’s refined eye for tailoring. The colour palette was lighter with honey, dark camel, pebble, white, olive green, laurel green, dark racing green, pewter and heather grey.
