Famous Michelin-starred chef’s guide to Paris.
Alain Ducasse – a longtime leading light on the culinary scene – hardly needs an introduction.
Here, we talk to the mighty Michelin-starred chef behind projects as varied as Le Louis XV in Monaco, a quartet of French country inns, and Smith stay L’Andana in Tuscany. Alain also oversees the restaurant at the swish St Regis in Washington. Naturally, he’s passionate about Paris .
Where to eat
After browsing the fleamarket at Porte de Clignancourt, I love to grab a bite to eat at Le Soleil (109 Avenue Michelet, Saint-Ouen), a classic bistro serving lobster from Normandy, foie gras and rum baba. Another top pick is Mon Vieil Ami, a convivial, stylish eatery that presents consistently excellent food.
Where to shop
My favourite food store in Paris is Be , a boulangerie (bakery) and epicerie (deli) on Boulevard de Courcelles, selling traditional breads made by a master baker, and a range of local groceries.
