Rag & Bone Breathes Ethnic Chic into Pre-Fall 2012 Collection
The American apparel goes from runway to walkway without a hitch.
We find Rag & Bone somewhat of a misnomer. Lest you think they are undesirable items left to the rag-and-bone man in the street, it’s actually an American apparel brand that’s anything but. British designers Marcus Wainwright and David Neville started off their label in 2002 with denim jeans (then menswear, children’s clothes and accessories). It’s known for its wearability and understated style and counts Miranda Kerr and Victoria Beckham among their many celebrity clients.
The Pre-Fall 2012 Collection builds on classic pieces and essential wardrobe staples that the everyday girl would wear, like leather jackets, feminine dresses or casual separates. The pair says there isn’t a theme but we do see an undercurrent of ethnic, Indian influences in the form of sari-style layering and tie-dyed knotted turbans.
We love the draped silhouettes and how effortlessly cool and edgy the looks all add up (with finishing touches like studded bracelets and lace-up booties). And we wholly embrace the shots of red to brighten up the cold, dreary season.
