The French brand opens its first free standing store in K-11 Art Mall.

Founded in 1988, Sequoia is the brainchild of Pierre Hardy and Daniel Sisso, who wanted to bring their unique line of handbags and accessories to Paris. Pierre’s fashionable background proving quite fortuitous as he served as Creative Director for Hermes shoes and jewellery, as well as overseeing the Christian Dior and Balenciaga‘s shoe collection from 1988 – 1993.
Today, Sequoia specializes in exceptionally made leather goods like bags, wallets and pouches and, with over 250 distribution points worldwide, the Hong Kong store at the Kowloon side is the the latest addition to Sequoia’s worldwide reach.

Two of the most iconic Chinese names of our time come together.

Best known as one of China’s most famous classical pianists, Lang Lang , has branched out to team up with international Chinese brand Shanghai Tang to design a unique Chinese silk scarf.
Lang Lang will perform at New York’s Carnegie Hall at a festival entitled, ‘Ancient Paths, Modern Voices, A Celebration of Chinese Culture’, where the scarf will be unveiled as a celebration of modern Chinese culture. Famous faces make Maison Michel Accessories their own.

Maison Michel has set up base in Hong Kong. Although relatively new in the Hong Kong scene, Maison Michel is already an established name in the international sphere. They’ve been creating hats and accessories since 1963, and are famed for their ingenious use of new shapes and materials.
Laetitia Crahay, head of accessories and jewellery for Chanel as well as artistic director for Maison Michel, was responsible for the FW09 collection, as well as the gorgeous ad campaign.

French luxury brand, S.T Dupont launched their latest writing instrument and leather goods line recently in Hong Kong.

S.T. Dupont’s new line, the Défi is inspired by the dynamics of the Aeronautics industry. Designed with aerodynamic lines, a slender body using injected metal with palladium finish and a composite carbon fibre body, the Défi is setting new standards in pen design. The new 304L steel nib took 2 years to perfect, the result fluid and precise writing.
We did a test run on the ballpoint pen and here’s our verdict. The pen has a nice weight to it, feels like a real pen, and have to say we love the smooth, gliding effects when you write and the almost lack of exertion required in handwriting movements.
A pen is not just a pen with S.T. Dupont.

Eyedonist presents the latest trends for the summer.

Eyedonist launched its new flagship store in Causeway Bay with a preview of the latest Summer eye wear trends. Brands that were featured included Gucci, Dior, Yves Saint Laurent and Marc Jacobs.
Nelson Cheung, Kathy Chow, Jacquelin Ch’ng and Ana R. were some of the personalities who modeled the various eye wear. The piece-de-resistance was an art piece made out of 36 pairs of eyeglasses Jacquelin Ch’ng wore on her body.
