Celia’s comments: Kathy is my best dressed of the week. It’s not because of all the big designer brands that she’s wearing, it’s the way she puts everything together into such a tasteful ensemble that seems both effortless and yet tasteful. The tailoring of the outfit is immaculate, and I adore the leather pants and shoes. Great mix-and-matching.

Celia’s comments: Black has been a popular colour for evening. Depending on how you wear it though, an all black outfit can easily slip from being stylish to looking dull. Fortunately in Alice B’s case, it’s all style. Her top is well-tailored with a waistline showing off her slim figure, and more importantly, she accessorized it with a long necklace and a pink clutch for contrast.

Celia’s comments: Janice strikes me as a model straight from a Coach ad. Her look has an air of modern sophistication, looking like a New York City girl. Great hair with the hat, simple outfit and cute yellow bag – the whole look is well thought through.

Celia’s comments: Matching a fury top with tight jeans and boots is a good call. To wear all that fur well, it should always be placed over a fitted layer of clothes, if any at all. Stephanie has definitely mastered the art and the look is simple but trendy.

Celia’s comments: Mandy’s model-like figure shines through in this elastic dress. She wears grey well because of her fair skin and the dress, even in grey, stands out against her nude shoes. However, I’d love to see her with more accessories such as a necklace or bigger earrings which would definitely make the look even sharper.

The snazzy pattern of her dress gives the outfit gives it more edge. The tight fitting short dress suits her and flatters her slim and tall frame. Additional points goes out to her matching royal blue shoes.

Celia’s comments: Denise’s Spanish bullfighter look suits the occasion of an award night. She can always pull off a seemingly masculine look with a comfortable touch of softness and massive glam. She does stand out from a sea of gowns and dresses.

Celia’s comments: Colouful print and busy pattern are red hot this spring and summer. To wear it well though, you have to bring it to the minimal. As slim as Charlene is, she’s worked the magic of keeping it tight and mini, stating less is more.

Celia’s comments: This simple but elegant look suits Guo Jing Jing very well. With such nice features and figure, some simple make-up and a simple long dress can go a long way.  Looking stylish and comfortable, she’s like a breath of fresh air at the event.

Celia’s comments: A casual long cotton dress for the evening simply shows Ingrid’s sense of taste. It’s simple, trendy and exudes confidence. To have a bit of fun, she’s matching it with a fur coat. We think she looks super stylish.

We particularly loved the monotone palette of the whole look, something that shows it takes more than a loud outfit to make a statement.

We can’t get enough of Amanda Seyfried lately as she gives us a glimpse of warmer weather wardrobe, shown here in a pink short-sleeved mini dress that fits her in a way that’s not too bodycon-meets-uncomfortable. Paired with a pair of nude pumps, the actress kept it clean and simple right down to her barely-there make up and loose wavy hair. Stunning!

The face of evening gowns is now changing, we don’t need a traditional and grand dress for parties anymore, a simple and comfortable dress can be tasteful and stylish.

Celia’s comments: Love the simplicity in this short red dress. The cutting suits Alice well, making her look tall and slender. The detail is behind where her back is exposed. That tells us detail does not necessarily have to be in the front and it still works perfectly.

Celia’s comments: Kiki’s outdoor look is very simple and stylish. With a model-like figure, she brings an air of coolness to the look. Burgundy suits her, making her look elegant.

Celia’s comments: There are a few things that went wrong in the look. First is the colour – brown and green don’t really go together. Second is the cut. Fur can be tricky to wear because of its fluffy nature. If you’re to wear it on top, you need something fitted underneath. So in Helen’s case, she’d be better off pairing the outfit with a tight tee.

Celia’s comments: I adore this dress. What’s so special about it is that it puts the leopard print into good use by turning it into a sweet and stylish dress. The idea is an interesting one, and I’m looking forward to more of these combos to come.

Celia’s comments: This is exactly what happens when you put an evening dress on a model. Samantha delivers what is asked of her – looking tall, slender and elegant in this satin dress. The cute little pink clutch is also a good match to the look.

Celia’s comments: The dress is neither long nor short. This type of dress is hard to carry, and on Zhao Wei’s tiny figure it doesn’t work so well. A shorter dress would have definitely worked better for her. The elegant look is somewhat lost in the hair style which is a tad too casual for a grand event.

Celia’s comments: Although Kelly has jumped ahead to the spring look with the latest Marc by Marc Jacobs dress, her look is still festive and appropriate for this season. Love the metallic fabric which is shimmery, and of course the cut of the dress suits her current state as a gorgeous pregnant woman.

Celia’s comments: Cherie’s evening look is very elegant – a simple, basic dress with a stole of the same colour tone. And the best thing about this look is that she complements it with some very unique accessories – a super cool evening bag and shoes. Nice mixing and matching.

Celia’s comments: With the gold metallic top and fury detail on the coat, Janice’s look works as it’s festive and stylish, but more attention definitely needs to be paid to the tailoring. The whole outfit looks a size too big for her slender body and would be much better with the right fit.

Celia’s comments: This is an event where everyone is either in black tie or evening dress and I don’t have a problem with a look that’s too bold, but I do with a look that doesn’t suit the occasion or the person. This gold number is doing all the wrong things for Lisa as the shorts and the over-knee socks especially look too ‘cute’ for her age.

Celia’s comments: With her baby face, Charlene can pull off any kind of ‘cute’ look any day. But this time she has outdone herself. Dressed in a plain black mini number and smashing shoes, she shows off the cute piggy handbag with a touch of edginess and coolness. Well done Charlene!

Celia’s comments: Shu Qi is wearing the classic Versace look very well. Her feminine curve behind the dress is a good contrast to the boxy cut of the dress and belt, and her sexiness shines right through.

Celia’s comments: Gigi’s long slender figure carries this dress very well. White usually adds weight to the body visually, but she looks a slim as can be in this outfit. I love the cape-like upper design as well. Quite unique.

Celia’s comments: Tong Wei’s look is a disappointment this week. Dressed to match the season or event is rule number one as an artist, but she has failed the mission by showing up to a Christmas event in a spring dress and flat sandals. Celia’s comments: Anina is my best dressed this week. The striking pattern on her dress is the Manish Arara signature which adds a certain edge to Anina’s sweetness. Her sparkly golden heels (although hidden here) are also a stylish highlight. The whole look is feminine and edgy at the same time, and Anina carries it very well.

Celia’s comments: We’ve been seeing a lot of bold patterns and prints this season, which I love. The two patterns on Sammi’s dress contrast and complement each other, making the whole the effect appear effortless.

What she wore: Attra
Celia’s comments: Joey’s black evening dress brings a new nuance to what we know as the usual evening look. The mix of material, turtleneck woolen top and light translucent drapes, is so interesting. I also love the detail of the golden chain pattern right in the middle which makes for perfect, modern style.

Celia’s comments: This look has an unmistaken Ann Demeulemeester flavour to it. Denise carries it off with her very own toughness and attitude and, of course, her ultra cool Ray Bans!

Celia’s comments: This is a decent dress, but unfortunately the mismatch of stockings and shoes makes it all a bit awkward. Her bad hair day really doesn’t do anything to help either! This look is just somewhat confusing – neither edgy nor glamorous. You can do better, Karen!

Celia’s comments: Rosamund is the best dressed this week as she totally brings out the elegance of this outfit. Although all black, the different textures create a simple yet tasteful look – very Giorgio Armani.

Celia’s comments: Shu Qi wears this spring look very well. The 3D floral pattern on the dress is very easy on the eyes, especially when you see it in person. The whole look is very sweet and pretty.

Celia’s comments: Janet’s wearing the coat of the season. And she knows exactly how to bring out its style by wearing it with a pair of light coloured pants and wearing her hair up to show off the stand-up collar. Very stylish.

Celia’s comments: The whole outfit feels very Marc Jacobs, and Hilary carries it well. My only criticism, however, is that the dress itself is quite long so wearing something simple at the bottom would have been better than the stripy stockings and shoes, which may be a little too much but it gets a thumbs up from us nonetheless.

What she wore: Daks
Celia’s comments: Kelly can really pull off any look and make it modern, as you can see with this checkered long dress which not everyone could pull off. Kelly, on the other hand, is so tall and slender she can wear it with casual flats that makes the whole look seem effortless.

It’s been all quiet on the Duchess front since the end of the Canadian and American Royal Tour but, at Butterboom, we’re back on Kate-watch again after a string of great outfits from the stunning newlywed.

Jenny Packham, Amanda Wakeley, LK Bennett

Her most recent red carpet winner was this stunning silver Jenny Packham dress which she wore for a charity dinner in aid of the National Memorial Arboretum Appeal at St James’ Palace. The satin-chiffon one-shouldered Grecian gown was made especially for Kate and it shows as it clings to her delicate frame effortlessly.

She went silver again – this time with an aqua tinge – in another Grecian-inspired gown by British designer Amanda Wakeley. Worn for the Duchess’ first official solo engagement at a charity dinner, the dress featured sparkling rhinestone criss-cross straps and an ultra flattering empire waistline.

For her official Unicef visit to an Emergency Supply Centre in Denmark with Prince William, Kate wore a striking scarlet Ami coat from English store LK Bennett. She paired it with a matching crocodile Bessie belt from Reiss that showed off her slim waist, and brown Stuart Weitzman Zipkin boots for a wonderful winter look.

Beulah London

Looks like red is another Kate favourite (take that critics who say she only wears neutrals!) as she also wore pillar-box red for the 100 Women In Hedge Funds London Gala. Donning little-known Brit brand Beulah London for the event, her silk jersey maxi-dress featured billowing chiffon sleeves and a romantic ribbon waist-tie.

Collette Dinnigan, Alexander McQueen

It was another case of Duchess in red for a friend’s wedding, where she wore an Erdem-esque cherry red lace dress by Australian designer Collette Dinnigan.

Finally, we rewind back to August (on a visit to Summerfield Community Centre in Birmingham following the UK riots) for this stunning military-inspired outfit from Alexander McQueen – who designed that wedding dress. Pairing a cream blouse with epaulettes, military-style front frogging and navy trims with a navy wool skirt with gold anchor-embossed button embellishments, we think this is a perfect look for Kate as it’s just like her – chic, sophisticated and stylish.
