Yves Saint Laurent’s advertising campaign was shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin under the direction of Yves Saint Laurent Creative Director Stefano Pilati.  The campaign was shot in Los Angeles in the iconic Hollywood hills in October 2008, and will debut in print in February 2009 issues worldwide.

Natalie Designing Shoe Line

Portman’s shoes are coming to a galaxy near you.

Star Wars and The Professional star Natalie Portman has had it with celebrity fashion! So she is going to be designing her own shoe line:

The sweet veggie news for today is that Natalie Portman will design a shoe range for the Soho boutique Te Casan.

The shoes are vegan friendly, and debut in February, which should make for a very fun party complete with Natalie Portman on everyone’s camera phone rosters.

According to The Enquirer, she has been linked romantically with Sex and the City’s Blake Lewis (You remember he was Samantha’s young long haired boyfriend) – so the big question is, is he the father and is this even real? Should her new movie be called “The Silver Compass?”

Nicole Kidman was in Australia earlier this week promoting her new movie The Golden Compass, which opens today in Hong Kong. We thought we’d link to some photos of her taken at the premiere which makes us wonder where her silver surfboard is and if she will take the sky when The Human Torch shows up?

The Golden Compass which is based on the book series also stars the new James Bond Daniel Craig (as well as his Casino Royale femme fatale Eva Green) and looks to be a fantasy movie for the family.

Other flicks in theatres today include Nicolas Cage’s National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets and Bee Movie from everyone’s favorite stand-up Jerry Seinfeld. Below you can see Nicole in more golden clothes:

The $4 Million Boy Wizard

Amazon.com buys a 1-of-7 Harry Potter book.

Amazon.com has bought themselves one helluva expensive Christmas gift by winning in an auction, a very rare book written by Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling:

Amazon.com Inc, the Web retailer known for selling books, said it had paid about $4 million to buy a handwritten, illustrated book of wizardry by “Harry Potter” author J.K. Rowling.

Sotheby’s on Thursday held an auction for the book called “The Tales of Beedle the Bard,” which was mentioned in the last Potter book as having been left to Harry’s friend Hermione by their teacher, Albus Dumbledore.

There are just seven copies of “The Tales,” bound in brown Moroccan leather and decorated in silver and moonstones. Rowling gave six copies of the book to people closely connected to the Harry Potter books and auctioned off the seventh.

Jessica Alba is Pregnant

Jessica Alba and her boyfriend (and most hated man alive) Cash Warren have annouced they are having a baby and are expecting in Spring/Summer next year:

The couple met on the set of “The Fantastic Four.” Alba co-starred in the 2005 film and Warren was a director’s assistant, according to People magazine, which first reported Alba’s pregnancy on its Web site.

Alba, 26, stars in the new thriller “Awake,” and recently appeared in “Good Luck Chuck” and “The Ten.” The sex symbol first gained fame as an action star on TV’s “Dark Angel,” then in films including “Fantastic Four” and “Sin City.”

A few jokes spring to mind: This spares us any more bad Jessica Alba movies for the next 9 months? Will the next Fantastic Four movie be called Fantastic 4 1/2? So I guess Good Luck Chuck was a reality show? How do I get a job as a director’s assistant?

Louis Koo is a Nerd

Check out his Darth Vader costumes.

I guess The Force really does know no boundries, Hong Kong actor Louis Koo (古天樂) is shooting photos for the new China version of Milk magazine and the 37-year old actor has opened the curtain to his home and show’s off not 1 but 2 full Darth Vader costumes. I can’t imagine what Hong Kong celebrities do with that kind of stuff…

Also interesting to point out is that Louis blog’s regularly on his site here, and that his fans are very resourceful and have translated all his postings into English. Although some of the entries are a bit strange and stream of consciousness, let’s see if Britney’s fans do that for her in other countries.
