Taylor Tomasi Hill was in town recently to introduce her collection with Sarah Rutson, Lane Crawford‘s Fashion Director at the Spring/Summer preview held recently. Taylor is Artistic Director of Moda Operandi, the very cool site that lets you pre-order a collection from the runway. She is also a former style and accessories director for Marie Claire and muse to Prabal Gurung, this is Taylor’s first attempt at her own collection.

This spring, the brand celebrates true Brit style by drawing on its halls of education and rich sporting heritage for inspiration. Dior gives us a glimpse of Portofino.
Brace yourself for summer because it’s going to be a scorcher with Christian Dior’s Resort 2012 collection. Inspired by the Italian resort of Portofino, the collection sees bold splashes of corals, pinks and rich blues in the form of cocktail kaftans, embroidered lounge dresses, crepe and georgette prints. The silhouette this season has taken a softer, more seductive approach – perfect for the gaze of envious onlookers as you stroll down the Italian Riviera.

At first glance, Prada’s Resort 2012 will appear as a classic ladylike collection that focuses on Americana for Resort 2012, but a double take will reveal elements borrowed from the Men’s Spring 2012 show. True-to-heart Prada fans will also rejoice at the fact that Miuccia has brought back their famous lip print in mini form – found on skirts, dresses, tops and bags.

To say that everyone has coveted at least one Celine item would be an understatement, and Phoebe Philo’s Resort 2012 collection holds no exception. Complete with pants, jackets and shirts done in that super-chic, minimalist style Philo has been crowned for, she manages to pull us further along the line by challenging both herself and us as the audience.
