Spanish fashion retailer, Desigual opened their first stand-alone store in New Town Plaza last week. The store is the first of many we are expecting to see in Hong Kong from this colourful casualwear fashion label that hails from Barcelona. Desigual- which means ‘it’s not the same’ or different makes clothes and accessories that captures the vibrant, spontaneous, fun and optimistic spirit of “La vida es Chula”. Desigual is on a major expansion plan  and stores in Singapore,  Shanghai, Philippines and their recent flagship store opening in Shubuya, Tokyo.

Founder, Sam Wagner, was recently in town for a few days so we caught up with her to chat about everything from the very beginnings of the popular Aussie brand, all the way to salmon skin.

We dropped by the QG Private i Salon at Four Seasons Hotel to visit new stylist John R. Mouzakis to talk about styling in Hong Kong and to get our new columnist Elle Lee a new hair style for the day.

John is originally from Detroit by way of Chicago and studied with Paul Mitchell as well as teaching there and at Sassoon. He’s 5-weeks into a new stint at the Private i Salon at the Four Seasons which is up on Podium Level 6.
