This year with the London Olympics well under way, tributes to sportswear were omnipresent in fashion.

Vera Wang mixed wet suit with trendy peplum for an athletic chic look. Alexander Wang amped up the need for speed with body conscious fitted cycling gear and helmets. Wave like appliqués on asymmetric dresses and tops; mesh tank tops and flowing trousers all suggested an active character for the McCartney girl. Try a new print trend for Spring/ Summer 2o12.

Animal, digital, skulls, what other prints can we sport? This spring give the scarf print a go. We saw a lot of scarf prints translated onto frocks on the runway – whether it is bright, pastel or dark gothic, it is all about symmetry.

Go on go girly.

Ditch all the neon brights from last spring and have soft Ladurée shades explode in your wardrobe. Indulge your sugary sense the maximum with colour palettes of in ice-cream shades.

Think sweet cotton candy and at Louis Vuitton – oversized collars and big buttons, large broderie anglaise dresses overlain with organza. Riccardo Tisci at Givenchy let go of his dark gothic aesthetics and dove into creamy hues of peach and pink with fitted suits.

How to wear beige this spring.

Beige has always been a classic shade. This spring, looks on the runway stayed neutral with a clean palette of beige. At Christian Dior long flowing dresses in apricot beige stole the limelight. Miuccia Prada’s vanilla pleated skirts took a 1950s turn with fierce red bodies and fire heels.
