Oh well, while we can’t be at 2011′s Cannes Film Festival in person, we can, however, imagine how it’ll turn out…spectacular that is!

The store for world renowned jewellery and timepieces, Chopard, is expanding yet again to commemorate 150 years of being in the business with a new store at the Shanghai Peninsula Hotel. Chopard’s newest store is 33 square meters of luxury featuring both men and women’s watches and jewellery.

Chopard truly is one of the most recognized watch names in the world and, to celebrate its 150th year, has launched a new timepiece, the L.U.C. 1937 model which, unknown to many, was one of the company’s pivotal years when the founder’s grandson Paul-André Chopard chose to leave the Jura region to establish the brand in Geneva. This move proved to be a successful, making Chopard the brand we know today.
From ballerina to kung fu movie star to style icon.
Michelle Yeoh was born in Malaysia on August 6,1962. As a child, she studied ballet but an injury prevented her from pursuing dreams of becoming a ballerina. After winning the Miss Malaysia beauty pageant in 1983, she started doing commercials before getting into films.
Michelle’s focus on work saw her starring in action and martial arts films like Police Story 3,The Heroic Trio,Tai Chi Master and Wing Chun with Hong Kong’s best actors including Jackie Chan and Jet Li. On an international scale, she is also known, having been in blockbusters like Tomorrow Never Dies,Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.
Chopard’s newest scent makes a splash at Cannes.
It seemed extremely fitting that Chopard’s newest scent, Cascade, was unveiled at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. After all, creators of the intoxicating perfume credit much of the inspiration from the glamorous world of movie stars and the red carpet.
Cascade is a combination of sweet and sexy with the Belle De Nuit flower taking center stage. Complementing the exquisite bloom is an exotic mix of pink pepper, orchid, grapefruit blossom, juicy mandarin and undertones of musk, woody accords and amber. The resulting aroma leaves one intrigued and wanting for more.

Seems Roberto Cavalli is big favourite with actress Shu Qi and Tan Zhuo wearing his dresses to the “Spring Fever” Premiere at the Grand Theatre Lumiere on the 2nd day of Cannes.

Kate Winslet is an amazing actress. If you haven’t seen her performance in Revolutionary Road, you should, we’re glad she won. The 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards took place Sunday, January 11, 2009 at The Beverly Hilton. She looks very elegant here with Chopard’s baubles.
