Redress HK is putting on the “Forever Redressed” Exhibition from 21 June – 4 July, 2011, at 4/F Harvey Nichols which sees 15 HK designers using second-hand clothing sourced from recyling bins to create totally new creations. 

Redress HK is all about promoting social responsibility and eco-sustainability through recycling, addressing the issue of waste with 253 tonnes of used and worn clothing going into landfills.

The 15 participating designers who showcased their one-off ready-to-wear pieces available for purchase, with proceeds going towards Redress HK are: Aalis, ATT, Blouse Ripped, Bonita Cheung, Cecilia Yau, Dorian Ho, ffiXXed, Handkerchief, HEI LAU, Johanna Ho, Kanchan Couture, Kenny Li, Magnan & Tse, Plotz and The Yesterdayskin.

Surely you’ve noticed by now that the one-shoulder trend is back and ruling the runways and store displays. Ever wonder where this silhouette hails from?

Interestingly enough, the one-shoulder style dates back to Ancient Rome to the  toga dress.
