Up and coming designer is here to launch new collection at Harvey Nichols.

Zufi Alexander has been causing quite a stir with the fashion crowd with her handbag and accessories line. The Financial Times described her as a rising star and she was awarded “New Accessories Designer of the Year” at the 2005 London Fashion Week.
Originally from Dubai, Zufi Alexander’s grew up in the States and the UK, After 5 years working at Christie’s in London, she decided to pursue her passion for purses and started her own line in May 2004. Her bags are now sold at Henri Bendel, Saks Fifth Avenue and have a celebrity following which includes Cate Blanchette, Beyonce and Sienna Miller. She has collaborated and designed a jewellery line with Erickson Beamon and Giuseppe Zanotti on a shoe collection.

It’s always neat to read other cities reviews of Hong Kong. The LA Times tells us where the A-List tourist traps – ahem – people shop in Hong Kong:
Nearly a decade has elapsed since the British handover of Hong Kong to China. The territory, an East-West trading center since the mid-19th century, prospered during Britain’s 156-year rule. There was apprehension it would regress when the Chinese took over.
