A dose of the unusual.

Toga‘s Fall/Winter 2010 collection is experimental and actually very wearable. This Japanese brand’s Fall 2010 presentation features head to toe single shade looks made interesting with layering and incorporating a mix of different texture like fur coats, stoles and wraps. There’s a bit of a ’40s edge to the collection with tweed coats, coloured tights and highly embellished, layered cotton pieces.

A military-inspired Fall collection filled with endless contradictions.

For those on the hunt for unique pieces that are stylish and modern, you can’t go wrong with Dries Van Noten. Fall brings with it many more unusual picks for the quirky shopper as DVN presents a collection full of unexpected whimsies.
The military influence is evident with a collection filled with khakis, tailored jackets and parkas, and shades in dirt-resistant hues of olive green, camel, khaki and black, with the occasional animal print. Y’s welcomes Fall with a graphic punch.

For other designers, Fall is all about warm, toasty colours but not for Japanese brand, Y’s. Y’s is simply not afraid to go graphic, offering an assortment of pieces in white, black, navy or slate gray and focusing on the voluminous silhouette so popular in the ’80s with a play on workwear and many fun twists. Also incorporated into the collection are lightweight raincoats in all sorts of fabrics, while splashes of red, yellow and orange brighten up the traditionally graphic pieces.

UK designers show off bold color and prints for Fall.

It’s August and as stores prepare to bring in their Fall collections, we take a look at what’s in store in Hong Kong. While summer was all about bold, bright hues, Fall fashion takes us on a much more sophisticated journey with deeper, more dramatic bursts of colour. UK designers seem to be in agreement that the trend for this season includes knee high skirts and dresses in sharp, tailored silhouettes. Prints range from the geometric to the abstract in shades of maroon, mustard, burnt sienna and gray.
