UK shoe designer, Rupert Sanderson, is creating quite a buzz in the shoe biz. In the eight short years since his first collection. His shoes have become a staple on London’s fashion red carpet and have garnered quite a following including the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, Keira Knightley, Freida Pinto and Sienna Miller.

Chanel presents “Country Chic”

If fashion shows and collections are supposed to take us on a journey, then it’s safe to say that Karl Lagerfeld has bought us a ticket to a fancy barn! The setting was decidedly ‘country’ at Chanel’s 2010 Spring show, complete with hay but no bumpkins, we promise!
Instead, Karl gave us a lesson on country charm and elegance; punctuated with details of basket weave, ruffles, aprons and florals. Feel-good silhouettes like puffed shoulders and full skirts were in full bloom and, just like the countryside, colors remained natural and uncomplicated with lots of black, whites and soft pinks. Flighty clothes were complemented with sturdy wooden clogs and, just to twist things up a bit more, Karl introduced a bit of black lace to the equation – bringing an unmistakable Chanel touch right to the barnyard!

Watch a short Chanel film directed by Karl Lagerfeld himself.

Get ready for a unique way to view Chanel’s 2009-2010 Fall Winter pre-collection. Fitting Room Follies is a short film shot and directed by Karl Lagerfeld himself.
The film stars Lara Stone and Baptiste Giabiconi, and of course features “Starting Point” also known as Chanel’ FW09 pre-collection. The story revolves around the intimacies that revolve inside a fitting room. Expect to see Lara trying on a myriad of tweed suits, pearl necklaces, two toned shoes, and many other signature Chanel pieces in this 5 minute, black and white screenplay.

Famous faces make Maison Michel Accessories their own.

Maison Michel has set up base in Hong Kong. Although relatively new in the Hong Kong scene, Maison Michel is already an established name in the international sphere. They’ve been creating hats and accessories since 1963, and are famed for their ingenious use of new shapes and materials.
Laetitia Crahay, head of accessories and jewellery for Chanel as well as artistic director for Maison Michel, was responsible for the FW09 collection, as well as the gorgeous ad campaign.

It’s all about the eyes for Chanel’s fall look.

When Karl Lagerfeld announced the Chanel’s colors for fall would be mint green and pink, and there would be tons of high colors and hats, make-up artist Peter Philips instantly knew that make-up would have to stand out.
He did just that, coming up with a look that was both fresh and dramatic. Extra focus was given on the eyes, where delicate embroidered pieces were especially made to help achieve a wide-eyes, innocent look. For the look above, eyes were set off with Platinum and Ebony “Ombre Essentialle”, lined with “Ligne Extreme Encre Noire Onyx” and tons of “Exceptionnel de Chanel Smoky Noir” Mascara.
