Hong Kong PolyU fashion students to showcase their work at Lane Crawford.

Lane Crawford and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University have teamed up to show of a exhibition of their work. Entitled “Designers of Tomorrow”, the exhibit will show 18 creative textile creations of 12 graduating students and finalists from the Institute of Textile and Clothing of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
Slated to go on for a month, the exhibit continually serves as a great platform for aspiring fashion designers to show their work to a broader audience.
Everyone is invited to check out “Designers of Tomorrow”, which opens on June 29, at the Lane Crawford Ifc mall.

Stella McCartney‘s first stand-alone store in Hong Kong.

Fashionistas rejoice! Designer Stella McCartney has just set up shop at the Landmark in Central. The store will carry her popular creations of easy dresses and ready to wear pieces.
Stella McCartney shot to fame as soon as she showed her first collection in 2001. As a known vegetarian, a trademark of the designer is to avoid the use of animal material like leather and fur in her work.
Design-wise, the new space mirrors the newest Stella McCartney store concept. Much emphasis is given to the use of natural materials and the Japanese aesthetic of clean lines. A hot pink daybed greets clients as they come in, and cheeky monkeys found in the dressing room wallpapers add a touch of fun and whimsy. Everything is finished with clean timber and tile.
