Shanghai Tang‘s is turning  traditional Chinese outfits inside out.

The lastest Spring/Summer collection from Shanghai Tang is called “Dian Fu”, which means  “inside out” .

It seems Shanghai Tang is taking more creative risks with this new collection, injecting a sense of irony and wit by taking traditional Chinese outfits, turning it inside out,  giving it the needed modern twist to make it stylish and relevant today.

They are continuing to feature more prints this season, in particular, abstract prints influenced by Chinese contemporary artist, Zhu Ming.

Their ready-to-wear Autumn/Winter collection features patterns and embroidery of auspicious Chinese lucky symbols and characters and is appropriately dubbed the “Fu Zhi” collection which means “luck” in Chinese.
