Music XS hopes to save Hong Kongers CD-ripping time.
Smartone has launched their new downloadable music service last week in Hong Kong called Music XS. The idea is that instead of buying songs one at a time like on iTunes you just play a set monthly fee and you are able to access over 600,000 songs on your PC for HK$56 a month or HK$96 a month for your PC and your Smartone mobile phone similar to how most other music services around the world do it.

The next best way to work while you are on a beach.
It may seem that we cover Smartone-Vodafone alot, but we just love to talk about a company that so aggressively markets broadband and 3G services in Hong Kong. Even to have their new ads basically tell everyone their competitors’ services “suck.”
A new “comparison” ad campaign is in full swing featuring Smartone’s USB connect broadband service which gives you the same high-speed connections from your home PC to your laptop anywhere you move in Hong Kong. Other services seem to switch you from WiFi to 3G to space alien technology but Smartone is saying they can provide you with 7.2 Mbps download speeds all the time and even offering 2Mbps upload speed so you really work out big files on the go.

Smartone leads with super-cheap mobile internet access.
If you are an early adopter you usually get screwed on prices (prime example the recent drop for the Playstation 3) but in this case everyone wins. Smartone-Vodaphone throws down with an amazing $28 a month plan to access the internet (for 20MB of transfer) from your mobile with maximum unlimited access at $78 – meaning you can watch all the Youtube you want without those nasty data charges.
