Come 5 March, over half a million copies of Yves Saint Laurent Spring/Summer 2011 Manifesto will be handed out in the streets of Paris, New York, London, Milan, Tokyo and Hong Kong!

In this 8th edition, the Manifesto has a special showcase on Los Angeles as well as an exclusive interview by Hans Ulrich Obrist, an art critic and curator at London’s Serpentine Gallery with YSL Creative Director, Stefano Pilati.

YSL‘s new Opium boutique at Elements shopping center opened last week.  A cocktail party was recently held at the new store location, along with the launch of YSL’s Limited Edition Military Muse Two Bag which was especially created for the occasion and will only available at the YSL Elements boutique.

Yves Saint Laurent’s Fall/ Winter 2010 ad campaign is out. Stefano Pilati, creative director for the brand, has called on the talents of photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin to shoot the campaign. These series of ads stars classically beautiful Canadian/Ukrainian model Daria Werbowy in striking strong poses inside the Hôtel de Clermont-Tonnerre, the Parisian headquarters of Artemis, and holding company for Yves Saint Laurent parent PPR.

The black & white photo trend going strong on amongst the major brands this season. The YSL ad campaign is shot in graphic black and white.

YSL is once again blurring the thin line between fashion and film. To launch the 2011 Fall Men’s Collection, the brand has commissioned Dutch photographer and filmmaker Ari Marcopoulus to create a short film that features set pieces entitled No Way Back, which debuted last June 25 in Paris, along with a YSL Homme fashion show.

No Way Back is short documentary-style clip that gives audiences a peek into the life of tattoo artist Mark Mahoney who lives in L.A.
