YSL’s latest collection was presented in a trunk show at their flagship store.
Hong Kong’s most fashionsistas were in for a treat when Yves Saint Laurent unveiled its latest collection in an exclusive event held at the YSL Alexandra House boutique. The in-store trunk show allowed special guests to take a good look at this year’s collection, as models shows off the lattest YSL’s latest collection in a mini-fashion show.
The collection was a fusion of East and West, there were kimono-like details set in masculine fabrics with impeccable western tailoring. A beautiful collection with strong silhouettes and a flowy quality in the finishes as with the billowy skirt, pants and sleeves. Designer Stefano Pilati also employed interesting fabrics such as cashmere silks, organza and viscose satin. Looks were finished off with towering cage heels, adding to the collection’s feeling of geometry, symmetry and balance.

YSL’s new Edition Unisex collection debuts at pop-up boutique in Central.
The YSL’s Edition Unisex collection is a capsule collection that blurs the line between genders. Yves Saint Laurent has long pioneered the minimalist, androgynous look for women. Who can forget YSL’s Le Smoking tuxedo suit which paved the way for power suits and pants suit that forever changing the way women dressed. Stefano Pilati is updating YSL’s legacy with this collection consisting of re-engineered pieces from YSL‘s men spring/summer 09 collection to fit the female form. Take a look at the outfits below before heading on down to the pop-up boutique this weekend onwards.
This collection will be showcased for 1 week only at their pop-up boutique at Madhouse Contemporary gallery. This is the last leg of the Edition Unisex pop-up boutique tour which kicked off during the New York Fashion week having traveled from Milan, Paris, London before ending up here in Hong Kong.

When Kate comes to town she comes in with Yves Saint Laurent.
The YSL Easy Bag became a really HOT Bag in town when photographers caught supermodel Kate Moss wearing the YSL Easy Bag in Black leather at the Hong Kong International Airport last week. Well technically her boyfriend/manager/general dude was carrying it, but we’re pretty sure it was hers.
The current Easy Bag Price goes for HK$12,450, but Yves Saint Laurent Hong Kong has launched an Easy Bag in Medium Black Glossy Patent Leather at a very attractive price at only HK$8,950.

A rainy Saturday did not keep Hong Kong fans away from YSL.
As we posted last week, Yves Saint Laurent kept to their schedule and went ahead with their Manifesto Fall/Winter Collection street campaign in Hong Kong this Saturday past despite the rain that was sprinkling down. Hundreds and hundreds of people lined-up to receive the black and white canvas tote bags emblazoned with the YSL logo. The bag contained a copy of the Manifesto featuring Naomi Campaign in YSL’s fall collection. When the bags were all gone, YSL’s female ambassadors continued to hand-out the Manifesto all over Central.

Yves Saint Laurent’s monochromatic collection brings out the celebs.
How many fashion shows can Hong Kong have on at the same time? It seems the answer is lots, as the Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) Fall/Winter 2008 collection drew many of Hong Kong’s fashionable socialites to their show at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre last Thursday.
Showcasing their 1960′s inspired monochrome fall collection through a video & live catwalk presentation of models with the classic 60′s bob hairstyle, this season’s collection by Stefano Pilati is modernistic, very strong, stripped off all frills and patterns and totally focused on the preciseness of the cut and shapes of the clothes.
Who came? Chiling Lin, Anita Yuen, Josie Ho, Qiqi, Wyman Wong, Yolanda Tang, Kay Li, Tansy Tom, Michelle Ong, Yvette Yuen, Sabrina Fung.
